Starting day 4 of the 16 hour lab days and I have to say, I am feeling it. But, labs have been going very well and I have worked through lab 5 in vol3. Last night’s eight hour lab went very well and I was able to complete the entire lab (with the exception of IPCC) in 5 ½ hours, so speed is coming along.

Every lab I end up making note of places where I can improve. Completing the lab with 2 ½ hours to spare gave me plenty of time to go back and verify my configurations (I did find several mistakes), but overall, I felt I did very well. The IPCC portion of the lab was worth 10 points, so I plan on spending the next few days really going over the integration of IPCC with CCM so I at least will have a shot at those points. If IPCC on the actual lab gets weighted that heavily and I don’t attempt to configure it, I am in trouble. I am already giving up those points possible on LAN QoS, which would leave me very little room for error on all of my other configurations.

When you get a chance, hop over to the IPExpert’s blog and check out Vik’s blog on Dial Plan. I have been using the “tables method” for creating my dial plan and it has really been working for me. A good way to stay organized when configuring all of the route patterns and route lists.

Time for lab 6. I’ll check back in a few days.
