CCIE

WOW! It has been quite awhile since I have made a post. Let me first apologize for that. As Josh had stated, both of us have been very busy with various things (family, work, study etc). For those of you who had been following my progress with my CCIE Voice studies may remember back in February when I had stated that I was able to secure a lab seat in RTP for one last attempt at the voice lab before blueprint changes were going to be made mid-July.

The IAQ flag is a parameter which determines whether the ICD Extension field appears on the Users page within CUCM. Generally, this flag is set to false until IPCC has been integrated in which it is then set to true.

In this tutorial, you will learn a couple ways to connect a physical router to your home phone line as part of your “virtual voice lab “.  An all virtual voice lab would be ideal. However, real hardware is necessary for a more complete voice lab. I will be using a 2611XM for my home lab, but you can use just about any Cisco router with a couple fxs and fxo ports.

Just a quick note to say that I was able to secure a lab date for May 28th at RTP! For those of you still trying to get a date before the changes in July, stay diligent and keep looking. Seats are being dropped all the time. I kept looking throughout the day and would wake up around 2a every morning to look. There is still plenty of time.

Good Luck!
James

Sorry for just now posting my results of my recent lab attempt (2nd). As most of you have probably already concluded, I didn’t pass. I felt I did really well overall and at the end of the day, I had tallied enough points for a pass (through my verification), but didn’t leave a lot of room for error. As many of you know, what we think is a correct answer, may be seen a little different to the Proctor. And in my case, there must have been enough differences to take me below the 80 mark.

Testing Pix related labs can be difficult without the necessary features. In this tutorial, you will learn how to find and use an unrestricted license on your virtual pix firewall.  This will not work on an actual Pix firewall. Only GNS3 and only for testing.

Just a quick up date to say that I felt my exam went really well. At the end of the day, I had tallied enough points for a pass (from my verification) but as many of you know, that could be a different story once grading takes place.

Completed Lab 3 last night. As far as difficulty level, I found it to be pretty much on the same level as Lab 1. I basically knew how to configure every task and was able to complete the lab in about the 6 hr mark.

Completed Lab 2 last night, and I have to say, a definite increase in difficulty level from lab 1. I actually had no idea how to configure one of the tasks initially, but was able to complete the task based on a solution I read on Online Study List.

The final stretch of studying before my exam in nine days is well under way. Yesterday, I began working through the last mile labs completing the first of the 4 labs. So what are my initial thoughts on these new labs?
