Cisco – How to disable an individual dsp
Posted by Josh on Wed 14 May 2008Categories: Cisco , Cisco VOIP - [2] Comments
One of my customer’s recently started having problems receiving inbound calls although outbound calls worked just fine. Long story short, one of the dsp’s needed to be reset. When I issued the ‘show voice dsp detailed’ command, the dspware version displayed all zero’s. After reseting the dsp, calls started working again.
To disable the dsp, use the following command in privileged exec mode.
router#test dsp device *pvdm slot* *dsp* remove
To re-enable the dsp, use the following command in privileged exec mode.
router#test dsp device *pvdm slot* *dsp* restore
To reset the dsp, use the following command in privileged exec mode.
router#test dsp device *pvdm slot* *dsp* reset

Voice n00b question: What does “test dsp device print” do?
May 14th, 2008 at 7:32 am
In the video, I was trying to see if the disabled dsp would show up with the ‘test dsp device print’ command because it is not in the output of a ‘show voice dsp’ command.
c2691#test dsp device ?
<0-3> Slot id – the module id on the system.
all all slots to be acted upon
print print DSPs not in “show voice dsp”
