This maybe obvious but I got it to work by using the details in this URL http://networking-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=18762.

Paste the key in with comma between each group of numbers and make sure you convert the serial number to hex. I just used the calculator on my PC to this, then put the hex serial number in as 0xhhhhhhhh.

This worked for me!

I finally found a key/license pair that will not give the error message, the key seems to be editing the key and placing the commas between the sets of numbers. Now when I attempt to start the console, it starts for a split second then disappears.

HELP!!!!

I have 6 pix firewalls. All of them have legal copies of PIX IOS on them. I have tried using the 6.3(4) and the 7.2(3) in GNS3, with all of the different serial numbers and activation keys (these are all running in the real world). All I ever get back from GNS3 is "Invalid Serial Number" and "Invalid Key". Am I missing some trick to get this working?

Josh,

I'am releatively new to GNS however i've been creating LAB successfully for routing. However when i am trying to add PIX its failing.

I've added PIX IOS to Qemu and leave the Key and serial default. Now when i am trying to drag PIX on working console its giving me an error message

''Cant start QEMU on port 10525''

I tried reading your comments for PIX emulation but couldnt really find any solution can you please suggest something.

Also i want to add Juniper routers to my routing Labs any suggestion from where can i find JUNOS???

Would wait for your reply.

Best Regards

Can you please post an example of how i search for a particular ios version for any router? Also is this only relevant for download with CCO account or these are free versions?
