Josh,

I have seen where there is a tutorial on how to install GNS3 on Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit however after install in the "Preferences" -> "Dynamips" Tab If I press Test I receive "Failed to start Dynamips" or after configuring and placing a an IOS image in the Images file, If I drag a router into the "work area" I receive the error "Can't start Dynamips on port 7200" I made the Dynamips binary executable and have tried everything else I know to try. I hoped you may have an answer. I also wonder if there needs to be a GNS3 user group as in Vbox or if this could be file permission problem?

Thanks in advance for your time,

Thanks for a great tutorial, very useful. I've used this several time recently, GNS3 runs so much better under linux. Latest incarnation is Ubuntu 10.10 desktop on my old Asus eeepc 900, happily running four 3640 routers on a 900MHz Atom processor!!

Hi - i have Unbunto 10.04 LTS version. I installed GNS3-0.7.2-src but when i test dynamips, I get 'dynamips failed to start on port 7200' error message. I have set the dynamips path in GNS correctly. I also allowed port 7200 in iptables on ubuntu. Dynamips version is dynamips-0.2.8-RC2-x86.bin. I changed the permisson of this dynamips file to executable. But after all these effors and spedning a week on it, i am still unable to start dynamips.
Please advise & help.
Thanks.
