Proctor Labs Voice Rack Session

My first Proctor Labs voice rack session went well today for the most part. You are given the option of connecting via Cisco VPN Client or EzVPN. I decided to try and use the EzVPN solution so that I could use the phones from my lab. After a little customizing of the EzVPN config that is provided, I was able to get connected.
I wanted to spend most of this session just getting familiar with everything and make sure that I was able to get my “hard” phones registered. I was able to get the basic infrastructure configured and was able to auto register all of the remote phones as well as the four phones I was using locally. I also used the demo version of IP Blue on my laptop and registered it as my pstn phone using the provided information (a “hard” phone locally for PSTN is not supported). Once I had all phones registered, I decided to spend the remaining time working with the 6500 and becoming more familiar the few necessary configurations.
By the end of the session, I was pretty comfortable with the “feel” of Proctor Labs and must say that I am impressed with how nice everything is laid out for you. I have several sessions lined up between now and my lab exam on Nov. 10th and look forward to my next session later this week.

James,
Thanks for your information on your rack time experience at IPExpert. I have been thinking about purchasing some rack time from them and based on your latest post my mind is made up.

I had my first PL session today – also went the EZVPN route. All very smooth I have to admit.
I *think* I have now switched my 7940 and 7960 back to a SCCP image, so will have another session to test out getting them registered over the VPN.
Good luck on your attempt!
