The Journey Continues……

The results are in, and I didn’t pass. I got tripped up on a few tasks and coupled with nerves, my time management was off. Overall, I felt the exam was fair and very passable, but time management HAS to be there. There is no room for error in my opinion.
I know what areas I need to work on and what mental mistakes I made. Looks like the earliest I can get back in is Feb. 20th and I have this day scheduled. I was really hoping to get back in sooner than that, so hopefully someone drops a date before I am locked into the payment with this new 90 day rule. That puts my payment due on Nov 22nd, so, between now and the 22nd I can hope an earlier date becomes available. I am not going to let up in my studying and plan on reporting back here on how things are going.

Tough luck man! I know it is itching you to get back in there and tackle it again. However; reflect on your journey and tweak what you have learned just a little and you will prevail. Congrats on even getting this far.

Appreciate the update are voice dates really that tough to come by still? R&S seem to always be there as long as you are willing to schedule them on short notice. Any particular technologies you will be focusing on or more strategy/time management?

Thanks guys.
Andrew – yep, voice dates seem to be hard to come by. I was able to get feb 17th so far. I know I am going to really hammer VPIM and IPCC
I also just need to keep working on increasing my speed.

Keep at it! It took me 4 attempts before I got there… Character building I think they call it. But it does make it even more of an achievement when you finally get there… which I am sure you will.

Sorry to hear this hogman.. I was following the dates to hopefully get the good news. Being able to get that far is still an accomplishment compared to others that shy away from the lab and rely on the written as an achievement. I used this site so much in setting up dynamips on my linux box and its my one-stop shop for these kind of things.
Im confident that you will ace it next time round…. Dont loose focus..though you dont need me to tell you that..

Sorry to hear this. I know that it does not make you feel better right now, but I wish you good luck for your next attempt. Keep in mind that life means looking forward. I know that you have the knowledge, maybe you miss some luck to pass.
Good luck for the next one!

James,
It’s good that your spirits are still high.
I was hoping to see your number on the post
Speed drill! that seems to be the key phrase all the time.
I will have to reset my datelines to a more realistic one now.

Hard luck James,
I thought you were definitely going to pass. You’ve got me worried now!
I’m sure you’ll pass on your next attempt.
Keep us updated with your progress.
Thanks.

I’m sorry you didn’t pass, but I’m sure you will get it eventually. I have been dragging my feet on my last CCIP exam before preparing for CCIE SP – I have no idea when I’ll feel ready to blow a few grand on my attempt – I wish they offered exams in NYC so I wouldn’t have to worry about flights & hotel fees.

Sorry for the results but I have no doubts you will prevail. It’s the drive and commitment you’ve shown to this effort that keeps us little IT Guys striving to learn and accomplish more then we ever realized we were capable of.
