This tutorial is a continuation of the virtual voice lab series. In this tutorial, you will add a dial-plan to the PSTN router that was added in the first part of the PSTN simulation lab.

 

 
The dialplan of the “PSTN” router provides call routing between the branches via H323 and CUBE as well as inbound & outbound calls to the PSTN phone using Call Manager Express.  This dialplan is a combination of my own design and a recent post by Iwan Hoogendorn. If you would like a head start on the configurations for the branch routers, head on over to Iwan’s blog (My configs will be very similar).
 

 

 

Here are the steps:

Datacenter Configuration

  1. Configure Cisco Unified Border Element on the PSTN Routervoice service voip
     
       allow-connections h323 to h323
       allow-connections sip to sip
       allow-connections h323 to sip
       allow-connections sip to h323
  2. Create a loopback interface for h323.

  4. Configure an incoming dial-peer

  9. Configure Cisco IP Communicator
      

    1. Open CIPC
    2. Click the ‘Menu’ button
    3. Click ‘Preferences’
    4. Click ‘Network’ Tab
    5. Select a network adapter or Enter a device name
    6. Enter 10.10.10.253′ as the tftp server
